2 stage PET/RM/SS case
This is a case of a failing lower premolar that was immediately replaced with an implant and PET protocol. Due to limited available bone in the apical region (mental nerve approximation) I was not able to achieve high primary stability so I decided to follow a 2 stage protocol and utilise the CSP technique (we have sent for publication and hope to see it published soon). The plug was lost 4 weeks later and since the patient was out of town there was no way for me to replace it. Although we lost the great advantage of cervical tissue conditioning from CSP we still got great bone repair. At 3 months the implant was uncovered and bone was evident between the shield and the implant. The soft tissue was conditioned with a cervico healing abutment.
